My Inspirations

My love of music started in the family living room while listening to old school with my mother. We would dance around the house while listening to great songs like I'll Take You There (Staples Singers) and Let's Stay Together (Al Green). I decided to take a music class in Jr. High School when given the opportunity. My first choice was the flute, but I ended up with the saxophone since they were all taken or broken. I continued my musical learning in Crenshaw High School's marching band where under the direction of the director, Mr. Hastings, I rose through the ranks to section leader and ultimately, drum major. Over the years, I have honed my craft while playing with musical greats like George Cofield, Chaz Green, Nashawn Cherry, Dominic Matthews, and Christopher Nwani. I most enjoy lifting people's spirits with my music while playing at the nursing homes for the elders in the community. They are the best choir of all.
